About Keith Sargent
Keith was born in Utah and brought up under a single mother's care. He is the oldest of three children with two younger sisters. He was involved in day-to-day care of his sisters at an early age, which instilled the drive and discipline to succeed and overcome any obstacles he met. He came from a modest to poor background. He was married at 18, with only a high school education. He had to learn quickly to survive and provide for his family. He started with a door-to-door sales job. He eventually sold furniture for one of the largest furniture companies in Utah , which gave him an education from the school of hard knocks, where he developed communication and public relation skills. After many years, Keith moved into the mortgage/banking profession, working with several different mortgage companies. With over 10 years experience he has become proficient in the banking business. He has successfully earned top salesman of the year awards, top producer of the month awards, and enjoyed earned vacation incentives. Now happily remarried, Keith has a total of four children and one grand daughter. He loves the outdoors and enjoys spending time with the ones he loves. His leisure time is spent with his family boating, fishing, snowmobiling, and camping.
He is currently working for Citywide Home Loans, a Utah Corporation with over 100 years combined experience. It is one of Utah 's most respected, wholesale corresponding brokers, which offers full-service mortgage lending. Citywide offers local in house underwriting, and processing. Using many different underwriting systems, Keith electronically underwrites most of his own loans, utilizing Freddie-Mac's loan prospector and Fannie Mae's desktop during an application interview. This facilitates a great advantage in providing approvals for the borrower at their first appointment. Communication is the key to having the loan process run smooth. Keith works with an experienced, knowledgeable, loan processor, Regina Peterson. Being a two-time processor of the year, accounts for her hard work and dedication. He is grateful to have her on his team. Keith immediately notifies the agents of the buyer's loan information, including type of loan, rate, purchase amount, and any fees. He follows up with a pre-approval letter faxed to the agent and any updates throughout the loan process. Over the past years Keith's slogan 'Put'em in the car', identifies him to his agents as a qualified borrower. Real Estate agents over the years have come to trust his slogan, which shows he is conscientious of their time and expectations of the loan going through without delay. Keith focuses on purchases of residential properties to four-plexes and previous borrowers. As a broker, he finds the lowest rates and fees from a network of investors. When banks compete, we all win. Keith passes the savings onto his borrowers, creating a lifetime relationship, which is more profitable than a one-time transaction.
